Carrie J. Adkins, wife of the late Deacon Robert E. Adkins Sr., departed this life May 30, 2003. She is survived by three daughters, Carrie E. and Ella Adkins and Brenda Johnson; three sons, Richard, Virgil and Harold Adkins; 21 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, William McDonald Sr.; two daughters-in-law; one devoted brother-in-law, Luther Adkins; and a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. Chaplain Toney McDonald officiating. Eulogy by Pastor Kenneth Minor. Burial Evergreen Cemetery.
