Died of dropsy at 2:30 P. M. on Saturday, May 26, 1888 at the residence of C. P. Scott, near Mt. Zion, Mrs. Amanda Scott, aged 56 years.
The deceased had resided in Macon county for a half a century. She leaves surviving her ten children. They are Mrs. A. combs, Mrs. Mollie Black, Mrs. Ann Hector, E. B.Scott, C. P. Scott, Mrs. Rosa Wallace and W. J. Scott all of Mt. Zion township, J. A. Scott of Walla Walla, Washington territory, Mrs. Addie Pierce of Benklemen, Nebraska and Mrs. Nancy Dunbar, of Fredonia Kansas.
Rev. W. L. Bankson officiated at the funeral Sunday afternoon at 3 Oclock.
