Will was one of the more prominent cattlemen of Hopkins County, TX, before the turn of the century and was among those who bought cattle and drove them through the Indian Territory to KS railheads, including Dodge City. He also raised livestock and was engaged in various financial undertakings, such as operating a cotton gin and a sawmill and owning a drugstore. Some of these undertakings were in partnership with his brother Albert.
