Funeral services for Mrs. Margerette Bostick, age 83, of Bastrop, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2007 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with the Rev. Jerry Stuckey and Rev. Allen Eppinette officiating. Interment will be at the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bostick was born June 29, 1923 in Richland Parish to the late Frank James McDonald and Pearl Bennett McDonald. She died Friday, February 2, 2007 at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, James Tavner Bostick, a granddaughter, Suprena Bonnett Lynn, three brothers, and four sisters. Mrs. Bostick was a member of the Maplewood Freewill Baptist Church in Bastrop. The last several years she had attended and was active in the Bonne Idee Assembly of God.

Mrs. Margerette Bostick is survived by eight daughters, Jeanette McKnight and husband Joe McKnight of Bastrop, Geneva Riley and husband Joe Riley of Mer Rouge, Virginia Stephenson and husband Jerry Stephenson of Bastrop, Mary Kathryn Bostick of Bastrop, Patsy Ryder and husband Glen Ryder of Bastrop, Tootsie Crow and husband Sonny Crow of Mer Rouge, Barbara Lusby Sisson and husband Roy Sisson of Bastrop, Irene Bonnett and husband Mickey Bonnett of Bastrop, son, James Ferrell Bostick and wife Kay Bostick of Bastrop, twenty-three grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Dwayne McKnight, Ernie Heckford, Calvin Lusby, Chuck Ray, Barry Ryder, Rodney Blood, and Todd Ryder.

Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Kenneth Stephenson, Shawn Stephenson, Mark Ray, Christopher Bostick, and Ricky Bostick.
