Agnes aka Nancy's maiden name is not Sappington. The Sappington's, Dr. John K. Sappington and his son Dr. John Sappington, of Harford Co., Maryland were the Beattie's family physician's. The Sappington's origins are out of Anne Arundel County, Maryland from the early 1700's.
An article in the Delta Herald Times on 5 March 1886, pg. 3. titled "Early Memories" by J. J. H. notes in the 1840's when he first traveled into Peach Bottom Township after crossing the Susquehanna River, one of the 1st houses he came to was the small log cabin of the Simon Beattie family.
Mother to a total of fourteen children, 6 sons and 8 daughters.
When daughter Mary Beattie died in 1885 there were 8 of her children still living.
Burial record found in Ron Mullins 1970 Slate Ridge cemetery survey and on Family Search.org.
