Mrs. Loreane Stanford Birris, 89, of Peoria, Illinois and formerly of Greenville, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Unity Point Health Methodist Hospital.
Loreane was born on November 9, 1933, in Inverness, Mississippi, the daughter of Jesse Stanford, Sr. and Kattie Loreane Holman-Grant.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jesse Stanford, Sr. and Kattie Loreane Holman-Grant, her husband, Dave Birris, Sr., two sisters, Lucille Stanford and Lillie Mae Wren, one brother, Roosevelt Grant, and one daughter, Katie Loreane Birris-Simons.
She leaves to cherish her most precious memory five sons, Rev. Dr. Albert (Lucille) Calvin, Jr. of Greenville, MS, Dave I. Birris, Jr., of Denver, CO, Samuel Birris and Jonathan Birris both of California, and Sidney Birris of McDouglas, GA; four daughters, Shirley W. Payton, Hattie M. Owens, and Ellen Birris-Herrod of Peoria, Il and Terry Birris-Farmer of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one living uncle, Lee Otis Stanford of Vicksburg, MS.
Graveside services in Greenville, Mississippi are entrusted to Watson-Edward & Evans Funeral Home, 703 South Theobald Street, Greenville, Mississippi 38701.
Mrs. Birris will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in Greenville, Mississippi.
