Betty L. Zachary, age 77 of Roanoke, TX, passed away November 16th, 2022. She was born April 5th, 1945 in Gainesville, Tx to Harmel Joe and Viola Comer. She grew up in Cleburne, TX, where she met and married Richard Ray Zachary on August 28th, 1965.
In 1972 they relocated to the Keller/Roanoke area where she was able to finish geriatric nursing aid courses at Tarrant County Junior College. After four years of serving those in need, she left geriatric nursing to be a machine operator at a foam company for seven years. She opened her own cleaning services business which she operated for 30 years until retirement.
Betty loved her family and friends and always looked forward to the family get togethers where she was known for her famous pea salad. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of which loved their time spent with her. She also loved her church family at the Cowboy Church of Tarrant County. She was also very active in the CCTC Ladies Roundpen.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 39.5 years, Richard Ray Zachary; Parents Harmel Joe and Viola Comer; and brothers James Curtis Comer, Ronald Joe Comer, and Gus Ray Comer.
She is survived by three daughters; Debbie Lynn Travis and husband Vince of Keller, TX, Brenda Kay Young and husband Darren of Cabot, AR, Tracy Ann Browning and husband Dan of Godley, TX; One step daughter Rayna Zachary of Cleburne, TX; One brother, Billy Wayne Comer of Keller, TX; Ten Grandchildren, two step grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, Texas 76034, followed by a graveside service at 10:30 AM
