Opal Adams, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at the Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on April 1, 1933 in Moodyville, Tennessee the daughter of Beecher C. and Edith Mae (Nicholas) Smith.

Opal married the love of her life George W. Adams, Sr., on July 4, 1959 in Muncie and he preceded her in death in 2015. Mrs. Adams became a homemaker and also was employed at Life Touch Photography in the retouching department for twenty years prior to her retirement in 2011. She was an avid bingo player, a member of the Eagles Lodge, enjoyed quilting, gardening and crochet work. Opal was her happiest when she was with her family.

Survivors include three sons, George W. Adams, Jr. (Lutricia), Stan Adams (Deborah), both of Muncie and Steve Adams (Stacy), Farmland; two daughters, Brenda Keeley (Randy) and Glenda Stinson, both of Muncie; ten grandchildren, Randy, Jason, Jeffrey, Tyler, Braydon, Jennifer, Andrea, Ashley, Danielle and Maci; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband of 56 years, George, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, W. H. Smith; a lifelong friend, Ethel Wright which was like a sister to her.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie. Friends may call at Parson Mortuary on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
