Sharon K. Houts, 82 of North Sioux City, died Monday, October 31, 2022, at her residence.

Services will be held 10:30 am Monday at Riverside Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation 5-7 pm Sunday at the church, with a Prayer Service at 6 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Sharon was born on March 24, 1940, in Scribner, Nebraska the daughter of Miles and Ella (Spath) Moyer. She graduated from Scribner High School in 1958 as the salutatorian and attended Wayne State College for a time. On September 30, 1961, Sharon was united in marriage to Glen Houts; they made their home in Sioux City. Sharon began working for the Social Security Administration in 1962 and retired in January of 1996 after 34 years.

Sharon was a faithful member of Riverside Lutheran Church for over 60 years and active as part of the Ruth Circle. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time at the couple's second home in Bella Vista Arkansas.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Glen Houts, Sr., daughter LaJean "Jeanie" Farrell and her husband Keven, son Glen Houts, Jr. and his wife Dora, grandchildren Tyler (Toya) Farrell, Kasey (Britt) Farrell, Hannah Houts (William Roberson), Glen "Buddy" Houts IV, Colin Houts and Kirk Houts, great-grandchildren Lydia, Thérèse, Genevieve, Killian, Josephine, and Gibson Farrell, and her sister Betty Reuther of Scribner, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Gaylen Moyer, Arlene Parr, Darlene Bossow, Faye Haney, and Gerald Moyer.
