Bennie Yohe, 85, of Bryan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2019, in Bryan, TX surrounded by loved ones. A Memorial Service with Military Honors is scheduled for 3 pm, Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Central Church of Christ, 1600 East 29th Street, Bryan. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Bennie was the only son born to Charles Thomas Yohe and Nellie Grace Yohe on January 10th, 1934 in Frederick, Oklahoma. Bennie was the youngest child and had six older sisters. Bennie made a great life for himself, proudly serving in the US Navy during the Korean War. When the war ended, he moved to Texas where he worked at a gas station and met the love of his life, Carol Jeanette Thorne. Carol and Bennie married on April 19th in 1957. Bennie started his career at Conwood Corporation as a salesman and worked there for 33 years.

Bennie was a devout Christian and member of the Church of Christ. He always wore a smile and had a kind word for everyone he met. He enjoyed being a husband and father, and he never turned down an opportunity to make small talk with a stranger. He was a humble man of high character. He loved golf and spending time with his family.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Bruce, and his sisters, Ethel, Marie, Jewel, and Melba. Bennie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol, his sisters, Hazel and Charnell, his children, Leanna, Rhonda, and Brad, six grandchildren, Cortney, Chad, Lyndsey, Destiny, Andrew, and Ethan, and three great-grandchildren, Elliot, Bellamy, and Elias.
