Aderienne B. (Payne) Koepke, 79, passed away peacefully to her eternal home with Jesus on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

She was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Eau Claire to Irving J. and Gracia O. (Christensen) Payne. Raised in Eau Claire, she moved to St. Paul with her family, and graduated from St. Paul Central High School in 1947. She went on to attend Macalaster College, studying vocal music.

On June 16, 1951, she married Elton J. Koepke. After honeymooning on the north shore of Minnesota, the couple moved to their newly built home in Bloomer. In this home on Main Street, they were blessed with five children, 11 grandchildren and their first great-grandchild during their 56 1/2 years of marriage.

Mom, affectionately called "Mrs. K" by Dad, was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to use her singing gift and sang for many weddings and funerals. Singing was a passion she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She also was a creative and masterful cake decorator, a gift which graced all the children's birthdays, graduations, weddings and countless other special events for family and friends. In 1955, she was the Bloomer Centennial Queen. She loved to travel, and after Elton's early retirement, they spent time over the next 25 years traveling through all 48 of the continental United States.

She is survived by her husband, Elton of Bloomer; five children, Janet Lebeis of Bloomer, Sandra (Clifford) Davis of Chisago City, Minn., Paul (fiancee, Kathy Brinnehl) Koepke of West Allis, Pamela (Bradley) Dietsche of Colfax and Michael (Lisa) Koepke of Eden Prairie, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, Samuel (Veronica) Lebeis, Sarah (Skye Thomas) Davis, Adam (Rebekah) Davis, Gregory, Jocelyn, Andrew, Kevin and Scott Dietsche, and Carl, John and Matthew Koepke; one great-grandchild, Patrick A. Lebeis; one brother, Dr. Leslie A. (Barbara) Payne of Blue Earth, Minn.; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brothers (at birth), Wilmer and Walter; brother, Lawrence; sister-in-law, Virginia Payne Bradford; son-in-law, Patrick H. Lebeis; and grandchildren, Jacob Lebeis and Christian Koepke.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bloomer, with the Rev. John Backus officiating. Interment will be in Bloomer Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Olson Funeral Home, Bloomer (715-568-5250), and one hour before services Sunday at the church.

In Jesus' words from Matthew 22:31-32, "And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not God of the dead, but of the living."
