Viola "Tootsie" Pogue, 92, of Gholson, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at her residence. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Gholson Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Mack Patteson officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pogue was born in San Antonio, Texas, to the late William and Elsie (Piper) Shaw. She was a 1932 graduate of Marfa High School. On May 9, 1935 she was united in marriage to William Bradley Pogue in Alpine. Viola was a housewife and homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Gholson.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband; and a sister, Evelyn Myers.

Survivors include son, Bradley W. Pogue and his wife, Betty, of Gholson; daughter, Darlene Baker and husband, Charles, of Winston, NM; grandchildren, Bradley Pogue, Jr., Michael Pogue and wife, Michelle, Roger Pogue and wife, Teresa, Sheryl Reid and husband, Scott, Tammie Charlene Kennedy, and William Charles Baker; great-grandchildren, Brian Pogue, Connor Pogue, Brandon Pogue, Haley Pogue, Elizabeth Reid, Ashley Baker, and Nathan Baker; a niece, Gay Gamble; and several other relatives and friends.
