Charles Rau, 84, a native of Dorchester, died at 7 p.m. Sunday at Ironwood, Michigan. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 26 at the Church of Transfiguration at Ironwood, and burial will be made in Riverside Cemetery there.

Charles Rau was born May 7, 1889, at Dorchester, and grew to manhood here. He was married to Margaret MacLeod at Ironwood on August 29, 1912. He worked as a carpenter, and during the 1930's they worked on a farm in the Town of Holton. His wife died in 1959.

He is survived by one son, Angus Rau of Menasha, and one daughter, Mrs. Ted (Norma Jean) Willet of Ironwood; two brothers, Henry Rau, Germantown, and Willard Rau, Menomonee Falls; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Mrs. Louise Rau, Dorchester, is a sister-in-law of the decease.
