CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Keith Simmons, age 65, of Centerville, Indiana, died Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Reid Health surrounded by his family.

Born December 10, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, to Walter and Sarah Deeter Simmons, Keith pastored many churches around the country. He received a Master of Divinity in 2006. Keith served at Union City Church of the Brethren, Union City, Ohio 1983 – 1985;
Windber Church of the Brethren, Windber, Pennsylvania 1985 – 1990;
Bethlehem Church of the Brethren, Boones Mill, Virginia 1990 – 2000;
Agape Church of the Brethren, Ft. Wayne, Indiana 2000 – 2007;
Sebring Church of the Brethren, Sebring, Florida 2007 – 2011;
Wakemans Grove Church of the Brethren, Edinburg, Virginia 2012 – 2014;
Leakes Chapel Church of the Brethren, Stanley, Virginia 2015 – 2018;
and Plum Creek Church of the Brethren, Shelocta, Pennsylvania 2019 – 2020.

He was a member of Lions Clubs in Virginia and Pennsylvania. Keith enjoyed travel, aviation – especially going to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Star Trek, science fiction, and photography, which was how he met Alice, and she liked to tell him how glad she was that he chose her to be his bride.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Duffin Simmons, to whom he was married June 20, 1981, and sister Phyllis Werner of Brookville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Ellen Filbrun.

Memorial visitation for Keith Simmons will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Trott officiating.
