Edna Payne Christensen, 91,
passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4th, at her residence in Gilbert, Arizona.

Edna was born in Virden, NM, to Junius Edward and Sarah Edna (Jones) Payne. She married Albert Christensen in 1948 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Together they had 6 children, raising 5 to adulthood in Farmington, NM, and El Paso, Texas. She has 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.

Edna was a wonderful homemaker-specializing in sewing, quilting, canning, baking and cooking. She liked to keep very busy serving her family, church and community. For many years she led her church's children's organization, young women's group, or the women's Relief Society: organizing service projects, events and activities. Edna and Albert served a mission in Kentucky, distributing clothing to those in need via the local schools and churches before retiring to Mesa, Arizona. Edna enjoyed music, reading and planning family get-togethers. Most of all she loved to make and keep good friends and serve others. Her life was spent following the example of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She will be lovingly laid to rest next to her eternal companion in Virden, New Mexico.
