Norma grew up in Springfield, MA and later moved to Brattleboro, VT before settling in Enfield, CT to raise her family. She was employed at Smith Farm Dairy Bar, J.M. Ney Co., Bridge Insurance Company, and Bank of America. She loved to dress up every day for the office and enjoyed the many friends she made there.
Norma was a gifted seamstress and tailor who created beautiful clothes for her family and many customers. Norma was happiest when spending time with her family. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and enjoyed playing Hi, Low, Jack, Triominos, and Trivial Pursuit.
Norma was predeceased by her husband Burton whom she was married to for 38 years, a daughter, Laura Doty, and son, Brian Bailey. She was also predeceased by her sisters Phyllis Blanchard and Florence Hartmann. She leaves 3 daughters, Patricia DeWitt (Jack), Nancy Bailey, and Robin Cawley (Joe); 9 grandchildren, Jeffrey Doty (Angela), Connie Doty, Gregory DeWitt, Jamie DeWitt (Jenny), Angela St. Pierre (Leon), Jeremy Bailey, Robert Lareau, and Taylor and Jessica Cawley; 6 great grandchildren, Mathew and Amanda Doty, Christopher DeWitt, Leon and Tessa St. Pierre, Harper DeWitt, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 14th 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Hazardville Cemetery (389 Elm St, Enfield, CT 06082).
