DEATH CLAIMS MRS ALLEN,
RITES TUESDAY FOR WESTPORT RESIDENT
Mrs Lula Allen, 60, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs Arthur Jones, two and one-half miles west of Greensburg.
Mrs Allen was born in Jackson county, Indiana, on Sept 24, 1887, and was the daughter of John Cordell. She was married to Jason Allen, railroad employee on April 5, 1902. He preceded her in death in April 1942.
The couple located at Westport in 1917 and went to Bedford for residence in 1932. Following the retirement of Mr Allen they returned to Westport in 1942. Since the passing of her husband she had made her home with her children.
The survivors are: Two daughters, Mrs Arthur (Lorena) Jories, of west of Greensburg, and Mrs Paul (Ruby) Krom, of Jackson township; a foster-daughter, Mrs Albert (Hilda) Critzer, of Columbus; three sons, Guy Jones, of Columbus, Harold Jones, of Bedford, and Paul Jones, of Mitchell; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs Jennie Lane, of Terre Haute, Mrs Barbara Mickles, Mrs Rosy Adams and Mrs Pearl Croucher, all of Norman, Ind.
Funeral rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Liberty church near Norman, Ind. The Rev R E Pavy, of Westport, will officiate. Burial will be in the Norman church cemetery. The body is at the Hostetler funeral home, where friends may call until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
