WILLIAM BARKDOLL died at the home of his brother-in-law, Daniel Sheffler, Waynesboro, Pa., Monday afternoon, aged 86 years. He had been ill for the last two years. He was born at Ringgold, Washington county, Maryland, son of Henry and Julia Rodgers Barkdoll. He had lived practically his entire life in the vicinity of Waynesboro.
The deceased owned the sand farm at Rock Forge. He learned the blacksmith trade. For twelve years he was owner and manager of the National Hotel in Greencastle. He was a charter member of the Leitersburg Jr. O.U.A.M.
He is survived by two children, Dr. Etta Selsan and Dr. Grover C. Barkdoll, Terre Haute, Inc.: two sisters, Mrs. Robert Keckler, Waynesboro, and Mrs. Amos Shockey, Smithsburg.
Funeral services Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the First Brethren Church, Waynesboro; interment in Green Hill cemetery. Body may be viewed on Wednesday evening at Grove funeral home and at church from 1:30 until time of services.
