According to the IGI and Pedigree Resource File at familysearch.org, Ezra Towne was born 29 Jul 1816 in Dover, Piscataquis, Maine to Eli Towne & Betsey Longley [some records say Betsey Scripture but she died in 1811] and married Salome Rogers 3 Apr 1843.

"The Descendants of William Towne" by Edwin Eugene Towne, see pages 92 and 163: "born at Dover, Maine 29 Jul 1816, married Salome Rogers 3 Apr 1843 at Brownsville [Brownville], Maine. He is now alive and well, 1900."
