Jesse Edward Walker was born to Edward Hamilton Walker and Anna Mary Pate Walker. He joined the navy as a young man, to fight in WWI. He left the Navy, and with men he met there, committed a burglary that went wrong. Stories vary, but Jesse was sentenced to death for his part in the crime, and that sentence was carried out in the electric chair at Sing Sing Prison, New York. His body was transported home, where he was buried next to his father in the family lot, without a grave marker.
