He was born Friday, May 6, 1938 in Monterey, Indiana, Son of the late Mack F. Allen and the late Stella(Salyer) Allen.
October 11, 1958 in Bass Lake, Indiana, Daniel married Jean Begley, she survives him.
Dan was a former member of the Knox City Council and a current member of the Knox City Planning Commission. He was the pastor of the Gospel Lighthouse Church and former pastor of the Highway Chapel Church of God in Hamlet. He was a former Boy Scout Leader and Little League Coach. He enjoyed running and participating in marathons. Dan enjoyed playing music, singing and gardening. His greatest passion was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are his Wife, Jean Allen of Knox, Indiana, Son, Kevin(Melinda) Allen of Lapeer, Michigan, Son, Keith Allen of Knox, Indiana, Daughter, Kimberly(Donny) Kay Lines of Indianapolis, Indiana, 11 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren, Brother, Floyd Allen of Knox, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by daughter Konnie Allen, grandchild Kerstie, parents Mack and Stella Allen, brothers: Russell, Gerald, Bazz, Joe, Coy, Homer, Ollie, Ralph, Creed Allen and sisters: Prudy Allen, Jewel Dean Allen and Lucy Webb and daughter -in-law Dawn Allen.
Friends will be received 11 AM till time of services at 1 PM at the Gospel Lighthouse Church, Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Braman & Son Memorial Chapel of Knox, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
Services will be held at Gospel Lighthouse Church, Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 1 PM with Rev. David Webb officiating.
Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox, IN 46534."
