Anna Houck Sides was a daughter of the late George and Sarah Rockett Houck. She was the wife of R.F. Sides.

In addition to her husband, she was survived by daughters Mrs. C.M. Young,and Addie and Carrie Sides; son John Sides; sisters Mrs. Ida Winkler; brothers Summey Houck and Robert Houck.

From her obituary, Morganton News Herald 1937:

Mrs. Anna Houck Sides, 81, of Hildebran, one of the oldest and best known women in Burke county, died at11 o'clock this forenoon at her home following a brief illness of pneumonia. The funeral will be held Monday forenoon at 11 o'clock at Friendship Methodist church with Rev. Jack Keller of Hickory in charge, assisted by Rev. Claude Abernathy of Icard. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Surviving Mrs. Sides, who was the daughter of the late George and Sara Rockett Houck, are her husband, R. F. Sides, of Hildebran, three daughters, Mrs. C. M. Young of Connelly Springs, Miss Addie Sides of Hickory, and Miss Carrie Sides at home;one son, John Sides of Hildebran; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers, Sum Houck of Hickory and Robert Houck of Greensboro, and one sister, Mrs. Ida Winkler of Granite Falls.
