Robert F. was the son of John and Anna Link Sides. He married Anna Houck on Nov. 22, 1877. His older brother, Julius Sidney Sides, married Anna's younger sister, Mary Houck.

***NOTE: He shares a burial plot with his wife and two unmarried daughters, Addie Elizabeth and Carrie Ida. The family of his brother mentioned above, Julius Sidney Sides, are interred on the other side of the Sides family headstone.
