OBIT: Frank A Rock died unexpectedly at 6:30 am Sunday at his home, Lafayette Rt. 6. He was 68 years old. Born in Lafayette, he had spent his entire life in or near this city. He was employed 40 years as a yard master for the New York Center 1 railroad until his retirement in 1951and was a member of the Big Four Yard masters association and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen No 374. He served in the US Cavalry during the Philippine insurrection.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Henrietta [Baumis] Rock; two daughter Mrs. Edward Riley and Mrs. Fred Bart, both of this city; one step-son William Virden, of Lafayette, two sisters Mrs. Mary Klutzke of West Lebanon, Louisiana and Mrs. Jesse Gonzolis of Gary; one brother Earl Rock also of Gary.
