Maryann Russo, 83 of Valrico, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Maryann was born January 2, 1939 in Stamford, CT. She is predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Lorenzo Tarzia, husband, Giulio Russo, son, Ralph Russo, sister, Rose Santagata and brothers, Larry and Dominick Tarzia.

She is survived by her daughter Robin Kraemer (Kevin), son Richard, former daughter in law, Hollie Russo Neil. She has five grandchildren (Matthew (Jennifer), Melodie (Andrew), Kristin (Casey), Adam and Andrew) and five great grandchildren (Riley, Reagan, William, Ralph James, and Jennie). She has 4 sisters, Marge Robbins, Virginia Lamy (Andre), Frances Chaffee and Christine Olney (George).

Maryann was one of 11 kids and was 6th in the line-up. She lived in CT until her and Giulio moved to Florida in 1978. She was a stay at home mom while raising her 3 kids then she worked at Mary Help of Christians School for 25 years as Assistant to the Principal. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She and Giulio were married for 60 years, and she is being buried on their 61st wedding anniversary. She and her childhood friend, Maureen Moccia were besties after 80 years. Her legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren. Everyone loved and will miss 'Mare'. She kept this prayer on her refrigerator: "Dear Lord, I love you and I need you. Come into my heart and bless me, my family, my home and my friends. In Jesus' name, Amen." She is no longer suffering and is home with the Lord.

A gathering of family & friends for Maryann will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 7 PM at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon at 401 W Brandon Blvd. Visitation is from 4:00 – 6:00 and a service starts at 6:00 PM. Burial will be for family only on September 9th at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home.
