OBITUARY: The Sun Herald, Biloxi MS, 4 July 2000
Biloxi - Zoe Diaz Harder, 82, of Biloxi, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, in Biloxi. Mrs. Harder was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was born on January 31, 1918, and was a lifelong resident of Biloxi. After a long illness, she passed away at the Kare Center after receiving the Sacrament of the Sick by Father Farrell of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
She attended St. Michael's Elementary School and was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Class of 1935. She was employed as a New York buyer for W.V. Joyce Co., and was in sales with J.C. Penney, Maison Blanche, and West End Pharmacy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Kenny" Harder, a Coast musician; her parents, Edwin C. "Sweety" Diaz Sr., and Mabel Duvigneaud Diaz; and a brother, Edwin C. Diaz Jr. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth J. and Patti Harder of Bay St. Louis; a granddaughter, Page Harder of Bay St. Louis; a sister, Rita Diaz Blessey of Biloxi; two nephews, Earl "Bun" Blessey of Ocean Springs and Stephen "Chip" Blessey of Hammond, La.; and a niece, Martha Blessey of Upland, Calif.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may call from 12 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Biloxi City Cemetery.
