Jimmy attended Pine Grove Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Minnie Johnson; a brother, Howard Johnson; a sister, Emma Saucier; and an uncle, Elias Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Willie Jean Johnson of Purvis; two sons, a daughter, a brother, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
