Funeral services for Clarence Hubert Arens were conducted Thursday morning, Dec. 14, 1972 at St. James Catholic church in Dawson, Minn. Officiating at the funeral Mass was Father Fredrick Fink. The organist was Mrs. John Wryen.

The pallbearers were Russell Quenemoen, Clayton Tufts, Dale Tufts, Verdi Heireren, Leroy Moseng, and Ralph Abraham.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Marshall. Hanson and Dahl Mortuary of Dawson was in charge.

Clarence Arens was the only son of seven children born to Nick and Margaret Arens. He was born on a farm in North Dakota on March 16, 1905. He died in Remsen, Iowa, on Dec. 11, 1972, at the age of 67.

When a very young boy the family move to Remsen, Iowa. As a young man the family moved to rural Marshall and upon his father's death in 1934 he took over the farm.

On Jan. 30, 1929, Clarence Arens was united in marriage to Marie Verdeck. To their union two sons and two daughters were born all of whom survive.

Mr. and Mrs. Arens were on their way south for the winter and were spending a few days with relatives in Iowa at the time of his death.

Surviving are his wife Marie; sons Loyal of Philadelphia, Pa., and Alvin of Okemos, Mich.; also daughters Mrs. John Harrigan (Eleanor) of Minneapolis and Mrs. Dale Boerner (Margaret) of Marshall. Also surviving is his mother, Mrs. Margaret Arens of St. Paul and five sisters, and 10 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his father, infant sister, and one grandson.
