William Allen's home was left to his widow Ann and in 1790 Ann married (08 Mar 1790) John Bailey, a bachelor of forty years, but very near her own age. Mr. Bailey built a home for her within a mile of the present Mt. Bethel Church in Henry County, Virginia. She gave him one daughter, Tabitha, who married Rev. J. C. Traylor, a Methodist preacher. John Bailey died of Yellow Fever in 1817; and Ann died in bet. 1835-1838.


NOTE: ONLY record I found so far with 1st name as Sarah was a 1783 Mecklenburg Co. VA deed Deed Book 6 pg 264 for a William Allen

Allen $1.00, son Pines Allen $1.00, dau. Nancy Carter $1.00, dau. Frances Abington $1.00, dau. Tabitha Traylor $1.00. Item: to 4 grandsons, children of my son Pines Allen, to wit, Robert B. Allen,Joseph J. Allen, John B. Allen and Charles Allen 6 negroes: Gloster,Patty, Sarah, Susan, Grace and Gloster, Jr. to be equally divided amongthem after my decease. Item: grandaughter Martha L. Allen 2 negro girls, Charlotte & Mary Malinda I bed & furniture, one bureau. Item: It is my wish that after my decease that my 2 old negroes Susan and Sally should be free & under the care of Wm. F. Mills.
