She was born on June 12, 1933 in St. Johnsbury, VT, the daughter of Forrest Ira and Edythe Olive (McPhee) Robinson.
She moved to the Keene area with her family as a young teen where she grew to attend Keene High School.
She married Donald F. Abrams, Sr. on May 12, 1951 at the Keene Church of the Nazarene. They enjoyed a long life of almost 62 years together before his passing on March 2, 2013.
Avis was a longtime member of the Keene Church of the Nazarene. She was employed by the Elliot Community Hospital, before she retired as a Medical secretary, from Cheshire Medical, after 25 years.
Mrs. Abrams will be remembered as a dedicated mom, a loving grandmother and great grandmother. She also found time to enjoy snowmobiling, motorcycle trips and camping with her family. She was a crafty person who, in her down time, would engage in ceramics, as well as knitting and crocheting. Spending time with family and being together for special occasions, made some of her happiest memories.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Abrams, Sr.; a child, Dana Abrams; a sister, Faylene Thresher; and two brothers, Ronald and Rodney Robinson.
Calling hours for Avis will be held on Friday, January 15th from 5:00 to 7:00 at Fletcher Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, January 16th at the Keene Church of the Nazarene. A Private burial time has yet to be determined.
