Carrol Forsyth Olsen
1938 - 2022

Our amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Carrol Forsyth Olsen, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, due to diabetic complications. Carrol was born May 1, 1938, in Teasdale, Utah, to John Franklin "Frank" and Marzella Potter Forsyth. She was the fifth of seven children. She was raised in Teasdale with her siblings: Odette, Shirley, John, Gayle, Janiel, and Evie. She graduated from Wayne High School in 1956. After high school, Carrol moved to Salt Lake City and worked for her uncle's Farmers Insurance Group. She later relocated to Northern California to stay with her sister, Shirley, where she worked at Crocker Angelo Bank. While attending a dance for single adults in the area, she met the love of her life, Gordon Evans Olsen. They were married March 27, 1959. Together Gordon and Carrol created a beautiful family, raising them in Salt Lake City, then settling in American Fork, Utah.

Carrol was the best wife to her sweetheart and a loving mother to her children. We could always count on Mom's support in everything we chose to do; whether it was sports, music, dance, or being a listening ear when needed. Carrol loved gardening, jeep trips, camping, baking, working at the store, and making friends wherever she went. Carrol was involved in the Utah Pageant of the Arts for numerous years, and served as Vice President and President of the Guild. Carrol was a member of the Intermezzo music club for many years where she made many friends and gained a strong appreciation of music. She worked for Norma Ivins at House of Ivins for about 20 years, until purchasing the business herself and successfully managing it for 17 years. There she made many friends and influenced many lives. She and Gordon loved their bi-annual trips to New York City to go to market, attend Broadway plays, and to explore all the city has to offer.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ was the central focus of Carrol's life. She served in many positions as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, two of her favorites were Relief Society president and teaching the Blazer A boy's in Primary. Carrol's life emanated her love and testimony of her Savior and encouraged all those around her to find the same joy she felt.

Carrol is survived by three children Lynn Olsen Holley, (James), Julie Ann Olsen Reeve, (Jack), and Eric Forsyth Olsen, (Jennifer), as well as ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Evie Forsyth, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Carrol is preceded in death by her husband Gordon Olsen, daughter Tamara Olsen, granddaughter Ashlee Olsen, her parents, and five of her siblings. We are grateful for the knowledge that we will be together again.

Funeral services will be held for Carrol on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork 38th Ward Chapel, 270 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call on Friday evening, August 19, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah; and again at an additional viewing from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.

Our family is grateful for the exceptional kindness and service received from the staff at Aspen Ridge Rehab Center, Charleston Assisted Living, and our friends at Warenski Funeral Home.
