Maroa, Ill, July 24--George Vantries aged 71 years died at his home here Thursday night at 10 pm. His death was caused by cancer from which he had suffered for about two years. He has been very sick since last January and was taken worse several weeks ago and constantly grew worse until his death occured.
He was born in ? Ohio and came to Weldon when twenty one years old. He lived in Maroa for eighteen years. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
He leaves six children, Mrs. Emma Wait? Waltz?of Moweaqua, Mrs. Carrie Hogue, Mrs. Ada ? , Parley, Manford and Grover of Maroa.
His funeral will be held Saturday from the home at 3 oclock. Rev. Mr. Montgomery of the Presbyterian church will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Maroa cemetery.
