Funeral services for George Vantries, 67, formerly of Maroa who died Friday in his Chicago home,will be at 1 pm Monday in the Ruble funeral home, Maroa. Burial will be in the Maroa cemetery. Friends may call after 2 pm Sunday.

Mr.Vantries who moved from Maroa 31 years ago was employed in the car shops of the Illinois Central railroad.

He was born Jan.29,1900 in Maroa,a son of George and Agnes Gibson Vantries. He married Anna Thompson, Feb. 3, 1921 in Decatur. She survives. Mr. Vantries also leaves a daughter, Nellie of Chicago, a sister, Mrs.Ada Burns of Maroa and a brother, Manford of Kansas City, Mo. A son two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
