Mr. Hansen had lived in Lakeside for about 60 years where he had been a farmer and leader in the community.
He was an Indian fighter in early days when the Apaches were on the warpath, and was present at the final capture of Geronimo, one of the most famous of the Apache war chiefs. The patriarch was instrumental in the founding of the Lakeside Ward of the LDS church and was one of its early bishops.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Standage of Phoesnix; Mrs. Winnifred Tenney of Chandler; Mrs. Mary Ellsworth of Mesa; and Mrs. Metta Hudson of Lakeside; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Whipple, 86, of Mesa; a brother Augustus Hansen, 70, of Lakeside; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
