Jesse Purvis is listed in the 1897 Taylor County school census. He has three children attending the Social Band School and they live in the Maple post office area of Taylor County. They are listed in the 1900 Taylor County Federal census, living in the Oak Hill district. There are three children living in the household (#95); John W., Lizzie, and Minnie A. Living next door are Hiram and Sarah Shofner, on the other side of them live Frank and Martha Thompson.
