He was born on Sept. 26, 1909, at Alva, Okla., and spent his early years there. He came to Manson in 1931. He was an Army veteran of World War II. After his discharge in 1945 he was a miner until 1965 when he returned to Manson. He worked for Manson Growers until his retirement in 1972.
Mr. Clapp married Effie Nichols in 1969. Surviving are his wife, of the home; a sister, Lela McFadden, Manson; and three brothers, Charles of Kellogg, Idaho, Mark of Wenatchee, and Troy of Yakima. He was preceded in death by a sister.
