Emma Krob, daughter of Anton and Tressie Trecek Havel, was born July 1, 1890 on a farm near Cuba, and died January 8, 1973 at the Republic County hospital in Belleville, at the age of 82 years.

She was united in marriage with Charles Krob on February 23, 1909, at Belleville. To this union two children were born.

Mrs. Krob lived in the Cuba community her entire life. The couple farmed near Cuba until 1940, when they moved into town. The past several years she had lived with her daughter until she was hospitalized two months ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles on January 30, 1967, by four brothers, her parents and step-mother.

Survivors include one son, Tony and wife Marie of Cuba, one daughter, Blanche Slavik and husband, Erney of Narka, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred and Henry Havel, both of Belleville, and one sister, Anna Cherney, of Cuba.

Memorial services were held at the United Presbyterian church in Cuba, with the Rev. Fred Mansfield officiating. Burial was at the Kopsa Cemetry.
