Benjamin Edward Bacon, Sr.

SHREVEPORT, LA - Benjamin Edward Bacon, Sr., 64, prominent businessman, died Tuesday, August 10, 1993 at his home after a sudden illness.

Mr. Bacon was president of Ridge Runner Lure Company and Ol' Ben's Worldwide Enterprises. He was a graduate of Fair Park High School and Centenary College. He was a member of Kings Highway Christian Church, where he served as an elder and youth leader.

Mr. Bacon is survived by his wife, Virginia Johnson Bacon; three sons, Benjamin Edward Bacon, Jr., Michael Patrick Bacon, Robert Paul Armond Bacon; daughter, Karen Bacon Fisher; four grandsons, Christopher Fisher, Jared Fisher, Joshua Bacon, Patrick Bacon and one granddaughter, Annelise Bacon.

Mr. Bacon will be sorely missed not only by his family, but by many friends and youth whose lives he touched with his generosity and compassion.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kings Highway Christian Church. Officiating was Rev. William H. McDonald. Burial followed at Forest Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Pat Johnson, Billy Johnson, Sr., Bill Johnson, Jr., Clarence Garner, Christopher Fisher and Jared Fisher.

Honorary pallbearers were Frank G. Wardlaw and Bubba Fife.

The family requests that memorials be made in lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to the Ben Bacon Youth Fund, Kings Highway Christian Church.
