Obituary for: Walter Westrick

"Walter Westrick, 64, of 1013 Richardson street, resident of Port Huron 28 years, died unexpectedly Friday in Port Huron Hospital. An employee of the Detroit Edison company 23 years, he became sick while at work Friday afternoon. He died a few hours later in the Hospital. Mr. Westrick was born May 27, 1885 in St. Clair. He married May Taylor Nov. 23, 1905, in Memphis. He is survived by his widow; a son, John W. Westrick; and three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Minor, Mrs. Sherwood Mugridge, and Mrs. Robert Vanderlake, all of Port Huron; two brothers, E. M. Westrick, Armada, and William Westrick, Marine City, and 11 grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Robert Ellington, died May 24, 1936.

Mr. Westrick was a member of Fort Gratiot lodge No. 374, F. & A.M. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Arthur Smith funeral home. Rev. E. H. Soderberg, pastor of Washington Avenue Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair, Fort Gratiot lodge No. 374 will conduct burial rites. Fred Limberg, Malvin Caughill, Kenneth Whiting, George Bradley, Stanley Cowper and Louis Groh will be pallbearers. The remains are in the funeral home."
