Michael Young came to TX from AL in 1829 with his wife Rachel and two oldest sons William and Anderson. In 1838 he settled in Bastrop Co. where he lived for 30 years before moving to Bell Co. with Anderson and a third son Perry G., establishing the town of Youngsport.
