Audrey Smith Tripp, age 72, died Friday morning in Johnston Medical Center. Born January 16, 1940 in Henderson County, TX she was a daughter to the late Paul Wilson and Winnie Helen Thomas Smith. She is preceded in death by two daughters, Bobbie Ann Tripp, and Donna Ann Tripp; three brothers, David Smith, Felton Smith, and Freddie Smith; and two sisters, Edna Gibson, and Glenna Brown. Ms. Tripp was a longtime member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Unity Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Mike McAuley officiating. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday night at the funeral home.Surviving are her son, William Linwood Tripp of Tarboro; daughter, Helen Elizabeth Tripp of Smithfield; grandchildren, William Christopher Tripp, Ashley Nicole Singleton, and Kaitlyn Tripp; and one step granddaughter, Cierra Corbitt.
