Dr. Frederick Howard Decker, 72, a practicing physician in Frenchtown for 50 years, died yesterday at 10 p.m. in Mercer Hospital, Trenton, N. J. he had been a patient there since March 7. Dr. Decker resided at 32 Fifth street, Frenchtown.
He had conducted his active medical practice in Frenchtown and vicinity, until his recent illness. Also a leader in civic affairs in Frenchtown, Dr. Decker, at one time was mayor of Frenchtown, and at the time of his death was vice-president of the Union National Bank of Frenchtown. He had held that post many years.
Professionally, he was school and borough physician, and a member of the Hunterdon County Medical Society. He was born in Asbury, and took his internship at Mercer Hospital, Trenton. Dr. Decker was a member of Frenchtown Methodist Church.
He also was a member of Orion Lodge 56, F. and A. M., and Magnolia Lodge, I.O.O.F., both of Frenchtown, and Crescent Shrine Temple, of Trenton.
His parents were the late Sylvanus and Eliza Van Buskirk (sic) Decker. Surviving are his wife, Jennie C. Vought Decker; three daughters, Mrs. Nelson Gardner and Mrs. Sheldon Kutz, both of Frenchtown, and Mrs. Nelson Boss, of Milford; eight grandchildren, and a brother, the Rev. Everitt D. Decker, of Ocean Grove, N. J.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the residence, with the Rev. Herbert A. Sawyer, pastor of Frenchtown Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will take place at the Ewing, N. J. crematory. Members of Orion Lodge will hold Masonic rites at the residence tomorrow at 8 p.m.

The Rev. Herbert A. Sawyer, pastor of Frenchtown Methodist Church, officiated. Cremation took place at Ewing Crematory.
Pallbearers included E. Dale Opdyke, Harold Arnwine, George Eddy, Leo Weaver, Bertram Light and Paul Cronce.
Members of Orion Lodge 56, F. and A. M., of Frenchtown, held Masonic services at the residence last evening.
