Longtime Napa resident, Dorothy Marie Wurz, passed away peacefully in her home, June 28, 2022, at the age of 97. The last sibling of her generation, Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Eadeth Mae Cheatum, brothers Leo, Larry, Ralph and Ronald Carpenter, sisters Florence Marean and Lois Winthrop. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her father, Zenas Frank Martin and his three sons, Leonard, Wilford and Thomas Martin.
Dorothy was married to Albert Wurz for 55 years prior to his passing in January 2000. Together they raised four children in Napa, Ronald and Lee Wurz, Claudia Luque and Laura Beaufils.
Dorothy leaves behind five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many "special" nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A sincere thank you is extended to the excellent caregivers provided through Abba In-Home Care Services and Bridge Hospice Care. A viewing will be held at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa, on Tuesday, July 12th from 9-11 am.
A service will commence at 11 am with a reception to follow.
Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband Al by private entombment in Tulocay Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in her memory to Bridge Hospice Care, 1261 Travis Blvd., Suite 250, Fairfield, CA 94533.
