She was raised and educated in Iowa. After her marriage in 1932 to Fred R. Marean in Reno, Nev. she came to Vallejo to live. In 1955 the family moved to Napa.
She was a Charter member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Napa, past president and member of the Eagles Auxiliary No. 71 of Vallejo, the Ivy Rebekah Lodge of Napa and the Estee Home Department.
Survivors include her husband, Fred R. Marean of Napa; four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Jacqueline) Ransford, Mrs. Robert (Linda) Shipp and Mrs. Deborah Edwards, all of Napa and Mrs. Arthur (Juanita) Marrero of Pinole; a son, Ronald Marean of San Pablo; two brothers, Ralph Carpenter of Seattle, Wash. and Ronald Carpenter of Palbso, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Winthrop of San Diego and Mrs. Dorothy Wurz of Napa; her mother, Mrs. Eadith Cheatum of Napa and 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
