Pauline Stephens, 81, of Helenwood, died May 12, 2001, at her home. Born in McRoberts, Ky., August 26, 1919, she was the preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Laura Guffey Landrum; one son, Virgil Stephens; and one brother. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Stephens of Helenwood; nine children: Vonda Strunk and husband, Thomas, Roger Stephens and Estellene, Denzil Stephens, Ronald Stephens and wife, Frankie, Dean Stephens and wife, Mable, and Melvin Stephens and wife, Donna, all of Helenwood, Kathleen Polder and Irene Davenport and husband, Bill, both of Fairfield, Ohio, and Willard Stephens and wife, Carolyn, of Oneida; 40 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and two greatgreat-grandchildren; three half sisters, Wilma Buttram of Huntsville, Cleda Cook of Clinton, and Alice Byrge of the Mountain View community; two half brothers, Harold Lackey of West Robbins and R.T. Lackey of Helenwood; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted May 5, 2001, in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Ellis officiating. Music was provided by Dean Stephens and Judy Lawson. Internment followed in the Cut Cemetery in Helenwood.
