Nell Sellers
OCTOBER 26, 1934 – JULY 12, 2022

Nell Burney Sellers passed away peacefully on July 12, 2022 after a brief illness while surrounded by her loving family. Born to Charlie and Nora Burney in Morgan County, Alabama, she was the 12th of 14 children.

Nell is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert, son Stephen (Jamie), daughter Leigh Ann (Joey), her five grandchildren, Mitchell, Jay, Samuel, Anna Payton, Harrison, and her two sisters, Loxcil (Gerald), and Jayne (James). She is preceded in death by her parents, 11 brothers and sisters, her daughter Alicia, and her great-grandson Oliver.

A vivacious and feisty ball of energy, she was always encouraging, positive, and outgoing. Nell lit up any room she entered and was well known for her energetic and outgoing personality as well as her infectious sense of humor. A loyal friend for life, she cared deeply for people and profoundly impacted the lives of everyone she touched. She was generous, strong, vibrant, and resilient. She loved sports, outdoors, gardening, and golf. But two loves stood above all: her family and Jesus.

"Noni" took great joy and pleasure in loving and caring for her husband, Bob, supporting and loving her family, and spoiling her grandchildren. But most importantly, Nell was a woman of complete faith and commitment to her Lord Jesus. She continually exuded joy even in the midst of deep grief and completely trusted in Him for everything.

Her bubbly smile and energetic personality leave a void that will never be filled, but she leaves a legacy of love and faith that will continue to impact our family and this community for generations.

Well done, mom. We love you and miss you more than words can express. We cannot wait to see you again (1 Thess 4:13-14).

A family and friends visitation for Nell will be held Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life chapel service at 2:00 PM.
