Ome Coffey worked for Stearns Coal & Lumber in McCreary County Ky.he was on his way home one night and was side swiped by 2 boys in a truck,they were later ID as Winchester boys.He was taken first to the old Stearns Hotel where he died,then to Danville Hospital in Boyle County Ky where he was pronunced dead.His sister Maude Coffey Lewis took his body to her home in Oneida,Scott County TN.He was buried in the Coffey Cemetery Where this headstone picture was taken.
His father Joseph once owned the Coffey cemetery and surrounding land.
