After a short illness, MATHEW M. GILBERT died at his home in Wagner township on Wednesday last June 21st, aged 70 years.
Mr. Gilbert has resided in Wagner township for many years, and was well and favorably known, and highly esteemed by all with whom he was acquainted. An invalid wife and two sons, William and Frank, survive him, sincerely mourning the loss of a good husband, and a kind and indulgent parent. The community in which he has so long resided feel the loss of a good man, a friend and neighbor, for whom they cherish the kindest feelings.
Funeral services were held at the church near by the homestead, conducted by Rev. M. Butler. Burial in the Wagner cemetery.
