He was a retired Cuban-born free agent who played in the major league for 97 games as a relief pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals (1960 to 1963 and the New York Mets (1963–1964). He was originally signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates, he was sent to the Cardinals in a May 1960. In his professional career in Major League Baseball he compiled a 6–6 win–loss record and 11 saves, with a 4.35 earned run average. His only full year came in 1963. After being sent down to Triple-A by the Mets he never appeared again in the big leagues and worked in the minors for the rest of his professional career. He passed away at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ.
