Bennie N. Goelzer, 85, passed away Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Veteran Administration Medical Center, Louisville, KY. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a self-employeed mechanic and welder. A daughter, Bennye Faye Purvis, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, the former Juanita Beld; three daughters, Minnie "Tootsie" Payne (Rollin) of Salem, IN, Betty Hall, New Salisbury, IN and Rose Cannon, of Corydon, IN; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Hwy 64 NW, Ramsey, IN, with burial in the Central Barren Cemetery (with Military Rites). Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Monday (12/17/2007)and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday (12/18/2007)at the funeral home. Memorials to: the Cancer Society or Hospice in care of Veterans Hospital, Louisville.
